Personal Care and Community Support Opportunity

Job Description

We’re looking for dependable female support workers to join our personal care team—people who are practical, confident, and ready to contribute.

This role is about offering real-world support at home, in the community, and sometimes at work-related events and hui. We’ve advertised before, and we’re advertising again for a good reason: our needs are growing and our kaupapa continues to evolve.

What the Role Involves

  • Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming

  • Support during meals and with meal preparation

  • Attending work meetings, hui, and community events

  • Assisting with errands or occasional travel

  • Casual shifts shaped in partnership with us

Hours Available

  • Up to 10 hours per week right now

  • More hours from November onward, especially during summer

Typical shifts

  • Tuesday & Thursday mornings (7am–8:30am)

  • Two evening dinner shifts (6pm–8pm, negotiable days)

  • Alternate weekend mornings (8am–11am)

  • Casual hours and travel agreed as needed

Ideal for Students in

  • Disability or social services

  • Māori studies or kaupapa Māori spaces

  • Fields needing hands-on, people-focused experience

Who You Are

  • Reliable, efficient, and respectful

  • Comfortable working in both private and public environments

  • A strong communicator with initiative

  • Have your own car and mobile phone

  • Female (under section 27 of the Human Rights Act 1993 – household employer privacy)

No formal experience is necessary—training and support are provided.
